Meet Ericka Horne
Ms. Ericka Horne is a first generation Jamaican-American from Broward County, Florida. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®), received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University (FSU), and her Master of Public Health degree from Benedictine University with certificates in Health Education and Promotion and Epidemiology. With over ten years of clinical and public health experiences within clinical healthcare, government, and academia, she uses her knowledge and expertise to impact the communities she serves positively.
Ms. Horne is a fourth-year Doctor of Public Health student with a concentration in Behavioral Science and Health Education at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU). Her research investigates Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the role of religiosity on health outcomes. During her time at FAMU, she has presented at several conferences nationwide, moderated many discussions around public health, and is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Ms. Horne is the CEO and Founder of AKCIRE Consulting, LLC., where she works with faith-based and non-profit organizations in developing and implementing health-related programs such as health fairs, forums, symposiums, and panel discussions.
