Meet Jessi Hekmati

Jessi Hekmati was born and raised in Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University with her BS in Health Promotion and completed her master’s in public health emphasizing in Epidemiology. It was during her practicum experience that she found her passion in One Health and its collaborative approach in the connection between the health of people, animals, and their shared environment. She recently started a company called Small Ruminant Solutions that specializes in biosecurity practices and education on zoonotic disease prevention in sheep and goats. In addition, she is working to develop further comprehensive strategies that tackle Q Fever, specifically a preventative vaccine for small ruminants.
